Law Firm Accomplishments

The staff at Michaelson & Associates holds a record of legal success across a broad range of Intellectual Property related matters. Our experts each boast an extensive list of accomplishments involving trademarks/patents, copyright and corporate legal representation relating to science and technology.
  • Successfully obtained over 2,500 U.S. and foreign patents thus far across a wide range of electrical, mechanical, chemical and biotechnology arts.
  • Successfully represented various clients in U.S. patent litigations, with all litigations settled very favorably to our clients.
  • Successfully represented a very large U.S. telecommunications company in securing a cross-license, on quite advantageous terms, to a competitor's portfolio of over 12,000 U.S. and foreign patents.
  • Successfully handled and managed various inter-parties patent/trademark proceedings in the U.S. and overseas for various clients.
  • Successfully defended, together with our European agent, a series of 7 different European patents, each directed to a different invention involving mass-flow metering and each of which we drafted and prosecuted, against a European competitor which separately opposed each of the patents before the European Patent Office (EPO). Several of these oppositions also involved successful appellate proceedings before the EPO.
  • Litigated with our German agent, separate actions involving patent and validity involving one of our domestic clients and filed in the German Courts.
  • Successfully handled trademark oppositions and other inter-parties trademark matters both in the U.S. and overseas.
  • Successfully handled and managed large worldwide patent/trademark application filing campaigns for various U.S. clients through which patent/trademark applications were simultaneously filed and subsequently prosecuted in many countries throughout the world, including both convention and non-convention, and PCT and EPO regional filing systems.
